As an update, Mary has since been in contact with us and agreed to reimburse us for veterinary bills. She did seem very concerned with our puppy when I spoke with her. Although he is still sick.. we are hoping he is on the road to recovery.

Don't buy a puppy from this woman. I now believe that she is running some kind of scam operation. This is the letter I wrote to her today if you are interested in our story:

Hello Mary,

I wanted to write you a letter to make you aware of the ordeal we have gone through since purchasing a puppy from you last September. Let me start by saying that we love this dog to death and he is the sweetest, most gentle dog and we would do anything to help him. However, he is also one of the sickest dogs we have ever seen, and this has been the case since the day we brought him home 4 and half months ago.

Byron, our vizsla, who was represented as being born on July 15, 2014, has never had a single solid stool. The first time we brought him to the vet they did a sample of his stool and said that he had roundworm and giardia. They told us that his roundworm load was one of the worst they had ever seen in their practice. Based on their evaluation, he had most certainly not been regularly dewormed in your care. Now, we have finally eliminated the roundworms, however, the giardia remains. The giardia has become a chronic issue for Byron. He has had now 4 treatments of metronidzaole and fenbendazole. He stool fluctutates between soft and violent diarrhea. The giardia robs him of all the nutrients we try to get into him. He eats up to four cups of food per day but eliminates constantly and is unable to gain weight. As a result, we are left with an underweight, small, skinny, and sickly puppy. I fear that at 7 months now, he may never reach his full potential due to this disease. He is now 7 months old, and just barely breaking 30 pounds. His ribs are clearly visible from all angles and his hips and spine are visible as well. People ask us if we are starving our dog. It is humiliating.

It is clear now how naiive we were when we came to get our puppy. We should have seen the warning signs at your place of business but were too excited to get a puppy and ignored them. We saw that some of the dogs had diarrhea right in front of us there. We noticed how disorganized the farm was run. Your assistant, which I cannot remember her name, seemed completely out of it to be frank. She could not keep track of which litter she was talking about when trying to give us information about the dogs. She gave us a tour of the barn and wasn't even sure what breed she was showing us. We were clearly looking at weizslas, and she told us they were bluetick coonhounds. When we were in your house you took some random stickers off of some dewormers from the refrigerator and stuck them to our dogs medical history. We now know for sure that these dewormers were not used on him. Based on this complete lack of organization and competence in running your business, I have no faith at all that the pedigree I received was even correct or that his date of birth is correct. (You also kept fluctuating between which litter you thought he was from). You also told us two different prices for the dog at two different times. Even when we were trying to come see the puppies you told us first they were in Massachusetts, then that they were in New Hampshire and we should meet you there, and then one day out of nowhere they were in Vermont.

You should not run this business the way you are running it. You need to remember that these dogs may just be products you are selling to you, but to your customers they are bringing a new family member into their home. They expect to bring a healthy puppy home and know where he came from. That has not happened for us. We spent $1400 dollars on a dog, expecting to receive a hunting caliber vizsla based on that price. Our dog is not healthy enough to train for hunting or anything else for that matter. Furthermore, we've spent over $500 dollars to date on his medical bills. What you are doing is unethical and should be stopped. I will be advising others in search of dog to avoid your business. You represent that you provide people with healthy puppies who have had proper care, but since the day we brought our dog home he has been sick and our vet has assured us that he was not properly medicated as a puppy. I have no confidence in his paper work either. I feel as though I've been taken for a fool in this transaction and am embarrassed by that.

The right thing for you to do would be to apologize to us and refund us for this dog who is now stunted and we do not know if he will ever fully recover from his parasitic infections. You should also be responsible for our medical bills given that you represent your puppies to be in good health when they leave your facility. However, based on what I've read about you since I started researching you business, I don't expect that to happen. I wish I had done more careful research before coming to you for our puppy, as it could have saved me thousands of dollars, a lot of stress, and heartache for what this poor pup is gong through. All we can do is hope that we can get this puppy healthy and get some weight on him and let others know how disjointed and misleading your operation is.

DON'T DEAL WITH THIS LOW LIFE SCAM ARTIST.

Just to supplement my review below....here is a link you might find interesting. She cares as little about humans as she does about the puppies.

Run Screaming from this SCAMMER

Where to begin? Without writing a book....let it be known that this person, and her buddy Laura Knowlton of Little Cote Kennel, think nothing about the good old bait and switch game. They will promise a pup with health certificates, AKC papers, medical papers, etc....and then will drop off a pup with nothing. You will be promised papers in 2 weeks...or will be told, as I was, that the papers were mailed already. The person who delivers your pup will be named Charles (Take a copy of his license) and he will tell you he owns the father of the puppy. Lie number 1000. When you push for the promised documents, you will be given fake papers that don't match your puppy. Call the vet(s)...they will confirm that you have been scammed. You will end up with a puppy with NO history...and lots of worries about her health in the future. Other people will be named in the fake vet papers. Brian MacDougall from Maine, but his telephone number you will find, has been disconnected. You will pay for what was promised, be lied to repeatedly, and then be given more empty promises. I filed complaints with the Department of Agriculture in Maine, Vermont, and New Hampshire...yes this is a multi-state puppy mill scam. I filed with the BBB. And, luckily, I am an attorney and will soon file legal papers and wrap these scam artists up for the next many years. Any animal lover should RUN SCREAMING from these two people. And, if you have been scammed by them, please contact me. I will represent you for free.
I also believe any good review on here is Laura Knowlton or Mary Corbett, lying once again, this time disguised as satisfied buyers. Also, don't let Mary or Laura tell you that this review is by some 20 year old who stole her puppy. That is what I was told. She is a nasty liar who has no conscience and is about to meet her match.

To the person(s) thinking these reviews are a single person trying to discredit Mary Corbett's business: it would more accurately be assessed as multiple people who trusted in the ethics of this breeder only to experience similar circumstances of purchasing sick puppies. My posting is mine alone. FYI, I could have purchased two puppies for the price and medical care paid for one from Mary Corbett!

Wonderful Weim Family Pet

After 12 years of the best dog you could ever ask for in temperament, our weimaraner passed away. We met so many weim owners that had high strung dogs, while ours was a treasured member of our family that could not have been a better dog. Mary was so great when we picked out our puppy and even brought her back to visit once. Seems there is a trend in the negative reviews here that sound a lot like a single person repeatedly trying to discredit this women's business.

My experience with Corbett Creek has been very POSITIVE !!! I found Mary though the AKC Kennel Club. I found that Mary was kind enough to send pic's of the litter & the pic's of the mother and father. As being a former owner of a Weimeraimer for 14+ years I knew what I was looking for. Mary was not only kind about my putting my weim. down she did her best to assure me that this litter would be a great litter. As of December 13TH I am a HAPPY owner of a 2 month old male Weim. There is NOTHING, NOTHING, negative with my puppy or the BREEDER . I would and most likely will continue to get more Weims from Corbett Creek Kennel.
