Do NOT make the same mistake I did by purchasing from Corbett Creek Kennels, Edelweiss Berners or whatever Mary Corbett is calling her business these days! Convinced by a telephone conversation of Mary’s integrity I moved forward on a Golden Mountain puppy before researching her further. Where to start: perhaps the $500 in vet care so far with outcome still unknown, or the puppy being other than the picture sent from Mary, or the puppy health certificate not matching the microchip number (worst documentation/record keeping I have ever seen), etc., etc., etc. Yes, I love my puppy beyond reason, but she was sold to me sick and that is unforgivable. After much persistence Mary did send some money toward medicines, but it is only a fraction of my out of pocket in less than a month. Did I have the option of returning my puppy for a refund …yes, but I would never send her back fearing for adequate health care and that she would be sold again to another poor unsuspecting soul. This puppy is sweet and cherished, but that is not attributed to Mary Corbett’s breeding skills. I only hope the doctors are soon able to determine the on going issue, get it treated, and that there won’t be permanent damage. I repeat buyer beware, do not promote this woman’s business practices!

Bad Breeder/Puppy Mill

People check it out do your research before you buy. How many locations do they have listed for their 'Farms'? Probably 3-4 different addresses. Jail time, investigations by USHS etc, the list goes on.....

Vizsla Puppy

Kari Posted on Oct 23, 2014

I am only here to share my experience...

4 years ago my Vizsla pup passed away and I have wanted another one ever since. I was contacted by Mary about a littler of Vizslas 12.5 weeks old at the time. I spontaneously decided to make the trip to her Kennel to take a look! I couldn't walk away without taking a 13 week old female Vizsla with me. After a few days I was completely overwhelmed with how much work a puppy was while trying to care for my 2 children (3 and 5 years old). I contacted Mary and totally lost it because I was so emotional. She was incredibly supportive and compassionate, told me if I was unable to keep her she would take her back and refund me the agreed upon amount. Please keep in mind that the money I lost can be used towards my next pup with her. I gave it a few more days before I made my decision of returning her. She handled everything with complete professionalism. Had the refund check in hand when I arrived at her Kennel and even contacted the AKC for me to get my refund from them for registering the puppy. She drafted the letter to be faxed to the AKC as well. On top of all of this she had given me advice on how to talk with my children about the dog no longer being with us and offered to send a letter and picture of the puppy to help them cope. My 5 year old was pretty upset.

The Vizsla I took home was AMAZING and I am still having a hard time dealing with not being able to keep her. She was happy and healthy and her temperament for a puppy was truly shocking. I am still trying to find a way to make things work and take her back. I will be returning to Mary for my next Vizsla puppy!

I'm Happy!!

Shaun Cochran Posted on Oct 13, 2014

To all the people that are writing bad reviews you must have the wrong person. Mary has been wonderful to us and our Bernese Mika is happy and healthy. Our Vet even stated that our pup is a true testament to the breed as she was a pillar of health. My vet said that she did not have any of the known health problems of bernese. I would always but another pup from her and I have already recommended her to many others!

From the beginning Mary was very helpful and attentive to what I wanted and needed in a dog. I gave Mary a deposit for one of her pup's however, after a few days I had a change of heart and realized I was not ready to get a weimaraner. After reading horrible reviews bout corbett creek I thought that my money was long gone....BUT after speaking with Mary about my change of heart she was extremely compassionate and understanding. She gave me her word to send back the deposit and sure enough after a little bit of time, it was sent back to me.
Even though I didn't get a dog from corbett creek, Mary corbett is a woman of her word and has integrity and professionalism.

She is a scam artist

Lisa Posted on Apr 11, 2014

I have also purchased a Bernese Mountain Dog from Mary Corbett with Corbett creek Kennels. She said she could have someone bring the puppy to our home in Nebraska from Vermont. She stated she uses this guy to transport her dogs all the time and that he does a great job,so we had her do it and paid $250 for the service. The guy arrived with the pup a week early and he was only 6 wks old. The guy stated he had already had the dog a week. He arrived in a box and was covered in cedar shavings. When we got the pup he was very sick and had to be taken to the vet immediately. When I called her to tell her she also said feed the dog pumpkin. She also stated that the dogs were AKC certified and when we got him the papers were not in there for this dog but for another litter. I called her to ask where they were and she said she would send them ASAP. Never got them so called and called and she finally told me that her female was registered in Canada but not here and she was waiting on the papers. We still have not gotten our papers for our Bernese that we paid $1600 for. O did I also forget to mention that she did not send us the dog that we originally picked out and she said we could send it back. This dog was so sick the vet said it would not not be a wise choice and to wait till the dog is healthy. We knew by that time we would never be able to send him back. I am still in contact with her trying to get the papers for my dog and she always has a different excuse! NEVER BUY A DOG FROM CORBETT CREEK KENNELS.!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Totally Misrepresented

SAM Posted on Mar 17, 2014

We got a puppy three months ago and should have known from the beginning things were not right. We purchased what we though was a Newfoundland/Bernese mix. When we questioned the lack of fluffy we were told that would come in a couple weeks..... never did. Mary was supposed to meet us and give the dog her last shots that they indicated would be done as part of the fee - she never showed up. I believe she knew the puppy was sick - she had Giardia when we got her. Instead of being honest and telling us this she told me to feed the pup pumpkin and it would clear her up. Poor pup suffered much longer than she had to before I finally realized it was not "stress" that was making her sick. With so many things not adding up we did a DNA test - pup is Newfoundland/ Weimaraner mix. Had they been advertised as such we never would have purchased the pup. So sad!

Horrible Puppy Mill

Renee Posted on Jan 23, 2014

Do not want to give a star to this puppy mill, the kennel was dirty and cold no heat for the dogs, there was so many different breeds. I felt so bad I had to rescue at least one puppy. Sure enough the next day I was at the vet, the dog was so sick, for months I was back and forth to the vet. Cost me a lot of money and heart ache. The pup is finally healthy for now but I'm sure there will be problems down the line. This kennel should be shut down.

problematic

Lee Wilson Posted on Jan 13, 2014

Bought a young Weim who had been "returned" by a previous owner. A wonderful dog, and very beautiful, BUT -serious health problems, huge vet bills - lots of emergency visits to my excellent vet. HOW Mary's previous "vet" missed what was going on with this poor dog is beyond me. I'm just happy that the dog ended up with me - as her illness would have killed her. She's fine now - thankfully - but Mary was clearly not invested
in her well-being.
